It started as one man's dream. A dream to create a sporting event unmatched by any other in the world. An event that would match the greatest athletes from around the world in some of the greatest sports ever played. The man was Pill Bug. The dream was the Pill Bug Olympics.

  Pill Bug was a simple man. He enjoyed simple things, like cheese. Pill Bug thought cheese was the bomb. He would eat cheese for every meal if he could. He is today credited with inventing the cheesy potato. Even though he was a cheese lover Pill Bug was never an athlete. It wasn't like Pill Bug didn't like sports or anything. It was that he wasn't good at any of them. This didn't discourage him though. Why should sports only be for the athletic? Why couldn't someone win a gold medal just for laying around and passing gas all day? That simple thought was the birth of the Pill Bug Olympics.

  Of course the Pill Bug Olympics weren't born overnight. No, it took Pill Bug a whole weekend to come up with the concept. His native homeland of Buggland would host a serious of events. Representatives from all over the globe would come and compete in a series of events. The top performers would walk away champions. It was brilliant. Much like the cheesy potato, Pill Bug couldn't believe no one had thought of this earlier. Not only would his games give the non-athlete a chance to compete but they would bring the world together on one stage. The Pill Bug Olympics would be the ultimate in things that could be considered ultimate.

  The first Pill Bug Olympics were held in 1992. Unfortunately no one knew about the games because Pill Bug forgot to tell anyone. This though worked to Pill Bug's advantage allowing him to win gold in every event. This feat is something no other athlete has been able to achieve since. The second Pill Bug Olympics in 1996 will always be remembered as the second Pill Bug Olympics. Pill Bug did manage this time around to remember to tell others about his event which allowed for a much more competitive field. Also there were several added events from the first games. The third Pill Bug Olympics in the year 2000 promise to be the greatest games yet. Five countries will be represented for the first time ever. Pill Bug has outdone himself again and added even more events. Time will only tell though if the third installment of Pill Bug's dream can live up to all the hype it has generated.
