Week 9

Old Lovers, New Allies
  As much as Meghan had tried to remove him, Desmond remained on the island. His knowledge of her involvement in the alliance was something Meghan couldn't risk remaining on the island. She already had Demoss eating out of her hands and decided it was time to increase her hold. "Hey Stephen." said Meghan.
  "Oh, hi Meghan!" said Stephen. "I haven't talked to you in while."
  "Nope, not since you cheated on me with that Julie whore." said Meghan.
  "I am so sorry about that," said Stephen, "I didn't know we were exclusive."
  "Well," began Meghan, "I've had time to think about it and I have decided to take you back."
  "Really?" said Stephen, "That's awesome! Wait though, aren't you and Demoss together now?"
  "No, Demoss and me never were a couple." lied Meghan, "sometime I just go back in the woods with him and talk."
  "You guys just talk back there?" said Stephen.
  "Yep, that's all." said Meghan, "nothing like those wild times you and I had back there."
  "Oh boy oh boy!" said Stephen. "I am so glad you took me back. I love you Meghan."
  "Um, uh .. I love you too Stephen." mumbled Meghan.

The Other Side
  While Meghan was beginning to form an alliance on one side of the island on the other Desmond was doing similar work. "Hey Bert, what you doing over here in the old Chiz temple?" asked Desmond.
  "I am just really upset." said Bert. "I miss Cool Moby a lot."
  "I miss him too." said Desmond. "It is a shame he had to get sick, not that he would have lasted much longer on the island anyway."
  "Are you kidding?" said Bert, "he probably would have won. Everyone loved Cool Moby."
  "Exactly," said Desmond, "everyone did love him so he posed a major threat to the alliance."
  "The alliance?" said Bert. "Nah, the alliance died with Gwedo."
  "Really?" said Desmond. "Is that why Meghan told me that if I knew what was for me I would join them this week in voting for you?"
  "What?" said Bert. "Voting for me? Why would anyone want me off the island?"
  "You are the a superman." said Desmond. "You are the new biggest threat to the alliance."
  "So you say there is a new alliance?" asked Bert.
  "I am saying the alliance never died." returned Desmond. "They just got weaker when Gwedo exposed Jacob. They are building back up their members."
  "Who is in the alliance now?" said Bert.
  "As far as I know everyone is but you and I." said Desmond. "That is why I am warning you."
  "Is there anything we can do?" said Bert.
  "Well Meghan is behind the alliance." said Desmond. "we can only hope that if she goes down, so will it."
  "Oh man," began Bert, "I hate all these politics. I wish Cool Moby was here for advice."

Bert's Reflections
"I guess everyone knows I had been spending the past few weeks caring for Cool Moby. He has been far and away my best friend on this island since I got here. Now he is gone and I feel as though I almost have to start over. I really don't know the remaining survivors very well. This alliance talk Desmond filled my head with has me scared. What if everyone is planning on voting me off this week? What if that isn't the case though and Desmond is just playing me. Maybe I should talk to someone else and see what they have to say. I also really miss my wife Mellissa. It has been almost a month since I saw her last. It is a little weird being the only married person on the island. While everyone else is running around in the woods fooling around I have to be good. I was wondering what I would have done last week if I would have won the challenge and got to make out with David Henry. Is loving on an obese male child considered cheating? Ever since Gwedo died I do still like to come and give my daily respects to Chiz. I don't really think Chiz is a God now. I just do it for respect for Gwedo. Speaking of which we really need to vote him off the island soon. Flies are starting to lay maggots on him. In a few days he is going to really be gross. Well I have rambled enough. Time to run around the island a few times."

Play Dead
  The second day of the week brought Kristine with a new weekly challenge. "Hello Survivors." said Kristine. "I have some good news for you. Todd was carted safely back and is recovering well in a Utah hospital."
  "Thank goodness." said Bert.
  "So, in honor of our sick friend Todd, this week's prize will be a Book of Mormon." said Kristine.
  "Hey, isn't that one of those free ones you get by calling that number on the commercial?" said Demoss.
  "Yeah it is." said Kristine. "That is why in addition to the Book of Mormon you also get this cool Wadener University Tee-Shirt."
  "That's pretty sweet." said Stephen.
  "This week's challenge is simple." said Kristine. "You have to lay on the ground and whoever can go the longest without moving wins."
  And so all the Survivors proceeded to lay on the ground. Eventually one by one each person had either an itch or a twitch and moved. Everyone but Stephen who had fallen asleep and Gwedo who was dead. Finally after six hours Stephen woke up, forgot he was still in the game and sat up. Therefore Gwedo won the challenge, the book, and the shirt.

Close Call
  "Hey Honey!" said Demoss.
  "Hey Sweetheart." said Meghan. "What's up?"
  "I am so bored." said Demoss. "I need something to do."
  "We could go back into the woods." said Meghan.
  "No we do that already like ten times a day." said Demoss. "I wanna do something different. I'll go get Stephen and we can all do something together."
  "No!" said Meghan, "not Stephen."
  "What?" said Demoss. "I like him. He is funny. Not Bob Newhart funny more like Dabney Coleman funny."
  "I am not comfortable around him." said Meghan. "He gives me the creeps."
  "Okay, I won't go get him." said Demoss. "I am still bored though. I think I will go spin."

Different Stories
  "Stephen can we talk?" said Bert.
  "Sure Bert." said Stephen. "What you wanna talk about? Maybe anime or comics or role playing games or golf?"
  "No," said Bert. "I am worried about the possibilities of a new alliance."
  "Yeah, I know what you mean." said Stephen. "That is why we need to get rid of Desmond."
  "Desmond?" said Bert. "But he told me Meghan was in charge of an alliance."
  "No, no," said Stephen. "Meghan isn't. Desmond was part of the old alliance."
  "Then why did he tell me that Meghan was in the alliance?" said Bert.
  "I dunno." said Stephen. "I know Meghan wouldn't lie to me. Maybe Desmond is trying to trick you?"
  "I don't know." said Bert. "This is so confusing. I need to go clear my head."
  "Okay, I will just wait here then." said Stephen.

Meghan's Master Plan
"I have been thinking about this for a while now and I think I have the perfect plan that will allow me to win this contest and get the circus peanuts. There are six of us left right now. Only five people that can vote though because Gwedo is dead. Stephen, Demoss, and I are all going to vote off Desmond this week. The following week we will vote together to remove Bert. Then after two weeks I will decide who I like better and whoever that is I will team up with to get rid of the other person. That leaves me and either Stephen or Demoss and Gwedo. I will vote for them and they will vote for Gwedo. That way there will be a tie and I will get to vote the tiebreaker since I will be the only one without a vote. I will vote for Stephen or Demoss, whoever is left. That leaves Gwedo and I and I will vote off Gwedo and win. Coming into this I had planned to win but I had no idea it was going to be this easy. Maybe Gwedo screwing up out alliance wasn't as bad as I thought it was in the first place."

Desmond Works It
  "Hey Stephen." said Desmond.
  "Yeah Desmond?" said Stephen.
  "I hope you are planning on voting for Meghan this week." said Desmond.
  "Meghan?" said Stephen. "I would never vote for her, I love her."
  "You love her?" said Desmond. "I have a question for you then, where is your love right now?"
  "She is in the woods with Demoss." said Stephen.
  "What is she doing in the woods with Demoss?" asked Desmond.
  "Oh, they are just talking." said Stephen.
  "Are you sure?" said Desmond.
  "No," said Stephen. "I trust Meghan though. Why would she lie to me."
  "Maybe because she is using you." said Desmond.
  Desmond walked away and Stephen sat down to think. There was certainly something going on. Was Desmond trying to trick him like he did Bert. Maybe Meghan was the one doing the tricking. Everything was so complicated.

The Vote
  The vote came on the third day like every time before. Several survivors were fine tuning their final plans. Not everyone's plan was going to succeed though because there will only be one winner. Here are a few survivors telling who they voted for and why.
Bert: I voted for Gwedo. I don't know who I can trust anymore but I do know Gwedo is dead and that alone is enough to earn my vote.
Desmond: I voted for Meghan. She knows of my involvement in the alliance and I believe she is now plotting against me. If only I had here feminine woes.
Stephen: I voted for Desmond. I don't know who is lying to me and who isn't. I am going to trust Meghan though on this one because I love her.
Demoss: I voted for Desmond. His involvement in the alliance is unforgivable.
Meghan: I voted for Desmond. Poor Desmond, you shouldn't have underestimated the power of women.
